Intake paused: IRCC stopped accepting applications on April 30, 2024. The pause has been extended until further notice. Do not prepare a new application on the assumption that intake is currently open.
Program scope
This federal program is intended for people with relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics who can make a significant contribution to Canadian cultural or athletic life. It is not a general immigration route for every freelancer or business owner.

If you already applied, follow the instructions that IRCC sends for your application. Keep evidence and contact details current and respond to requests by their deadlines.
Other business immigration enquiries
Other pathways have separate requirements and availability. Start-Up Visa criteria should not be substituted for the Self-Employed Persons Program criteria. We can review your background and explain options that are available at the time of your assessment.
