Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship
Current status: IRCC has paused intake of new applications under the Parents and Grandparents Program. It is not receiving new interest-to-sponsor forms or issuing new invitations until further notice. Existing applications continue to be processed.
If you already applied
Follow the instructions and deadlines IRCC provides for your application. Keep your contact information and supporting documents current. An old interest-to-sponsor confirmation does not authorize a new application.
Planning for your family
Sponsorship eligibility, income evidence and financial obligations must be reviewed under the rules that apply to an authorized intake. Avoid relying on income tables or invitation dates from earlier years.
Visiting through a Super Visa
Parents and grandparents may be able to visit through the separate Super Visa program. Eligibility, income, insurance and other requirements apply. A Super Visa is temporary status and does not grant permanent residence.
