Nova Scotia Immigration

Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

The NSNP offers provincial nomination pathways for eligible people who intend to live in Nova Scotia. A nomination is a step toward a permanent residence application; IRCC makes the final permanent residence decision.

Four consolidated streams

For new expressions of interest submitted after February 18, 2026, the program uses four consolidated streams:

  • Nova Scotia Graduate
  • Skilled Worker
  • Entrepreneur
  • Nova Scotia: Express Entry

These streams include sub-criteria based on the former streams. The consolidation does not automatically change an applicant’s eligibility. Existing expressions of interest in the NSNP pool remain active under the published transition instructions. The Atlantic Immigration Program is separate and was not affected by this consolidation.

Check your pathway

Review the current stream guide, sub-criteria and intake instructions against your education, occupation, work experience, language results and plans to settle in Nova Scotia. Eligibility does not guarantee selection, nomination or a particular processing time.
