Super Visa for Parents and Grandparents
The Super Visa is a temporary visiting option for eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It does not grant permanent residence.
Host and relationship evidence
Review the host’s eligible status in Canada, relationship documents, invitation letter and financial-support requirements. Use the current IRCC income and calculation rules rather than a table from a previous year.
Insurance and medical requirements
Applicants must meet the Super Visa medical insurance requirements and complete the required immigration medical examination. Confirm that the insurer, policy, coverage and proof of payment meet IRCC’s current rules before purchasing.
Length of stay and entry
Eligible Super Visa holders may be admitted for up to five years at a time. The officer determines the authorized stay at entry. Visa validity and length of authorized stay are different, and approval or entry cannot be guaranteed.
Prepare your application
Review your passport, purpose of visit, ties outside Canada, admissibility and required documents. A Super Visa and the Parents and Grandparents sponsorship program are separate pathways.
Our Windsor team can review your circumstances and documents and explain the services available under an agreed retainer. Government authorities decide applications; eligibility, invitations and approval are not guaranteed.
Official information: Check the latest program requirements. Intake, fees and processing times can change.
