Canadian Experience Class
The Canadian Experience Class is an Express Entry program for people with eligible skilled work experience in Canada who intend to live outside Quebec.
Canadian work experience
You generally need at least one year of eligible paid skilled work in Canada during the three years before applying. Full-time work or an equivalent amount of part-time work can qualify. The work must meet IRCC’s authorization and occupation requirements and fall within NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3.
Self-employment and work acquired while studying full-time generally do not count toward the minimum requirement. Specific exceptions should be reviewed where applicable.
Language and education
The minimum language level is CLB/NCLC 7 for TEER 0 or 1 work and CLB/NCLC 5 for TEER 2 or 3, in all four abilities. Use an IRCC-approved test. There is no minimum education requirement for CEC, although education can affect CRS ranking.
