Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program, formerly called the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), offers provincial nomination pathways for eligible workers and entrepreneurs who intend to settle in Alberta. A nomination allows you to apply for permanent residence; the Government of Canada makes the final decision.
Worker pathways
The main worker streams are Alberta Opportunity, Alberta Express Entry, Tourism and Hospitality, and Rural Renewal. Each has its own employment, experience, language and other requirements. Alberta Express Entry also includes dedicated pathways for certain occupations.
Worker stream applications require an invitation after submitting a Worker Expression of Interest. Meeting the minimum criteria or submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee an invitation or nomination. Check current eligibility and intake instructions before preparing your application.
Entrepreneur pathways
Alberta also has Rural Entrepreneur, Graduate Entrepreneur, Farm and Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur streams. Requirements depend on the proposed business, your experience and the selected stream.
